Berlijn is een enorme stad. Het strekt zich uit meer dan 883 vierkante kilometer en is de thuisbasis van meer dan 3,6 miljoen mensen.
Ik haatte de stad toen ik er voor het eerst naartoe ging. Ik kon gewoon niet met de stad sfeer.
Maar hoe veel meer ik terugkwam, hoe veel meer ik er van groeide. Berlijn is goedkoop (altijd een pluspunt voor mij), en het is de thuisbasis van enkele van de beste kunst, cultuur, muziek, festivals en technologiebedrijven op het continent. De foodscene is de afgelopen jaren ook echt opgeblazen, met enkele van de meest innovatieve dingen in voedsel in de stad.
Reizen Berlijn is geweldig.
Berlijn is ook de thuisbasis van veel hostels en, in een stad die zo verspreid is, is het essentieel om te weten waar de beste hostels in Berlijn zijn. Het kiezen van uw locatie is cruciaal om te genieten van de Berlijnse ervaring.
Ik ga al tien jaar naar Berlijn en ben op tientallen plaatsen in tientallen plaatsen gebleven. Er zijn veel dingen om te overwegen bij het selecteren van een hostel. De top vier bij het kiezen van het beste hostel in Berlijn zijn:
Locatie – Berlijn is enorm en het kan wat tijd duren om rond te komen. Kies een plek die centraal staat in de sites en het nachtleven dat je wilt zien. Alle hostels die hier worden opgemerkt, zijn op centrale locaties.
Prijs – In Berlijn krijg je echt waar je voor betaalt, dus als je een heel goedkope kiest, krijg je waarschijnlijk een hostel dat klein, krap is en geen geweldige service biedt.
Voorzieningen-Elk hostel in de stad biedt volledig gratis wifi, en sommige hebben een volledig gratis ontbijt, maar als u veel meer wilt dan dat, zorg er dan voor dat u uw onderzoek doet om het hostel te vinden dat het beste aan uw behoeften voldoet!
Personeel – Alle hier opgemerkt hostels hebben fantastisch personeel! Ze zijn erg vriendelijk en deskundig. Zelfs als je niet op een van de hieronder vermelde plaatsen verblijft, moet je beoordelingen opzoeken om te garanderen dat je ergens terechtkomt waar het personeel nuttig en vriendelijk is! Ze kunnen een hostel maken of breken!

1. Meininger Berlin Tiergarten
Dit hostel voelt veel meer als een reiziger/backpacker hotel. De kamers zijn ruim, de bedden hebben comfortabele matrassen, er zijn grote opbergruimtes en alle kamers hebben en-suite badkamers. Het bedrijf maakt deel uit van een keten die zich uitstrekt door Europa, vaak gebruikt voor groepsreizen, schoolreizen en gezinnen (dus het is meestal vrij stil). Dieren zijn toegestaan voor een extra 15 EUR per nacht en het dagelijkse ontbijtbuffet is 6,90 EUR. Er is ook een grote gemeenschappelijke ruimte en een spelzone met een Foosball -tafel!
Het is een beetje buiten het stadscentrum in Moabit, maar de gemakkelijke openbaar vervoer van Berlijn maakt het snel om rond te komen. Het hostel ligt naast Tiergarten, een populaire ontmoetingsplaats voor Berliners. Als u op zoek bent naar een rustig verblijf en veel meer ruimte voor uzelf wilt, is dit misschien het hostel voor u.

2. Hart van Gold Hostel
De kamers in dit hostel hebben elk verschillende decor- en handgeschilderde muurschilderingen van verschillende artiesten. De binnenplaats is een geweldige plek om ‘s ochtends te zitten en genot te maken van volledig gratis koffie en thee of het ontbijt van 5 EUR buffet. Het hostel heeft zijn eigen bar, en gedurende tevreden uur hebben ze 1 EUR -bieren! Je moet een aanbetaling van 5 EUR betalen voor lakens en handdoeken, maar je krijgt dat weer bij het afrekenen.
Over het algemeen is dit een geweldige plek om te verblijven en enkele reizigers te ontmoeten. De douches zijn niet geweldig, maar het hostel bevindt zich in Mitte in het centrum van de stad, dus het is gemakkelijk om naar een andere buurt te komen die je wilt bezoeken. Belangrijkste attracties zoals Alexanderplatz en de Gate van Brandenburg zijn dichtbij.

3. One80 °
Dit hostel ligt op slechts een paar stappen van Alexanderplatz en is schoon, gevuld met moderne voorzieningen en heeft zeer zachte kussens. Berlijns uitgebreide bus-, metro- en tramsysteem bevindt zich letterlijk net buiten de voordeur. Het personeel hier organiseert rondleidingen, waaronder een totaal gratis wandelentour, a pub crawl, and a trip to Sachsenhausen (a concentration camp just outside of town). There are plenty of electrical outlets (one at every bed) and the lockers are spacious.
Watch out though – the communal showers have no doors or curtains (they are separated by gender though). Overall, the hostel has a modern, trendy feel and the dorms are all reasonably sized (8-bed dorms are the largest you’ll find, so you’re not crammed in like sardines!).

4. Circus Hostel
Circus Hostel is an institution in Berlin. It’s been here for over 20 years, making it one of the oldest hostels in the city. It’s a friendly place with comfy beds and a very fun common area. You can also rent bikes and iPads here. The bar is astounding (they have their own microbrewery and café) and there’s live music on Friday nights, and they also host weekly trivia and karaoke nights too. check out the delicious breakfast buffet as well — it’s all you can eat and pretty cheap (6 EUR)!
The hostel staff provides a series of “Behind the Curtain” events, developed at showcasing everything that makes Berlin the dynamic city that it is. The events include totally free walking tours, night art gallery visits, street food tours, film screenings, and more. Overall, this is an awesome centrally located hostel and one of the best hostels in Berlin.

5. EastSeven Berlin Hostel
EastSeven has a great social atmosphere and really clean rooms. The hostel is located in a quieter area between Mitte and Prenzlauer Berg, but the nearby U2 subway line takes you best to Alexanderplatz. The hostel organizes walking trips twice a day, which is a great way to mingle with other travelers. They have an awesome kitchen — it’s got everything you need — and you can also cook in the outdoor BBQ area (another great social activity). There’s no elevator though, so be prepared to climb lots of stairs with your bag.
On the plus side, there are lots of extra little perks like file printing, hairdryers, umbrellas, totally free luggage storage, and late checkout that help make this one of the best hostels in the city.

6. St. Christopher’s
If you’re wanting to party, St. Christopher’s is the place for you. The bar next door gets quite lively and they do a lot of drink specials (you get 25% off on food as a guest, too). I had some really fun moments here, though there’s not much common space at the hostel so the bar really is the best place to meet people (they try to get everyone there to eat and drink as much as possible). There is also a 5 EUR breakfast buffet provided daily.
If you’re not wanting to drink or party, this won’t be the best place to stay. but if you are, the rooms here are clean and it’s pretty quiet in the hostel itself. It’s located in Mitte, near Alexanderplatz, the TV Tower, and museum Island.

7. Pfefferbett Hostel
This hostel is part of a former brewery complex in Prenzlauer Berg, in a nice, safe location that’s just two U-bahn stops away from Alexanderplatz. They have a great 24-hour bar that has pool tables, table tennis, and foosball, which makes meeting other travelers easy and fun. The hostel also provides totally free daily walking tours, which are a great way to see the area and explore the city. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are clean and not too tiny. There’sa comfortable fireplace in the lobby that adds a good touch of home to the place.
As an added bonus, the hostel is a non-profit that offers jobs for disabled people, so by staying here, you are helping a great cause!

8. minimal Hostel Berlin
In an arty part of Berlin, this boutique hostel features minimalist repurposed décor, in keeping with its name. It’s in the trendy Neukölln area and provides six-bed dorms and two double rooms. It’s not a party place, but it’s social enough that you’ll meet some people (plus there are bars all over in the area). They have bike rentals too if you want to go out and do some exploring. You should pay in cash when you arrive, and there is a two-night minimum stay.
